Disability: Basepoint Trophy (2nd Leg)

Invicta secured their first trophy in the series with a fine performance at the Buzzlines Stadium.

In the early exchanges both team went close with Harding and Causer defending well for Invicta and Maidstone kept our Burden and Shepherd quiet. Invicta finally broke the deadlock when Burden broke away down the left and his fierce shot found the corner. Invicta then broke and Burden fired in his second to double the advantage.

Law and Burden went close foiled by the Maidstone keeper. Invicta should of had a third after being given a penalty for a foul in the box but Lake put his spot kick over the bar. Just before half ime Invicta got a 3rd as Charlie Pope curled his shot into the bottom corner. Invicta rung the changes at half time which seemed to take a while to settle, Maidstone forced Invicta on the back foot and almost scored with Hughes collecting.

Law put Burden in for number 4 as the ball flew around the box and his hatrick. Then Law sent Pope away, he cut in and fired into the corner, Pope got his hatrick as he fired home past the keeper. Man of the Match Pope then got a fourth exchanging passes and firing in from a tight angle, Thornton had a goal disallowed and Stephens fired wide from distance. Maidstone searched for a consultation and were unlucky not to get a penalty late on.

With a mix of players this was a good performance with some showing confidence at this level which have have not played before.
