Disability: Folkestone Invicta 4 v 2 Bookers
Invicta took there full squad to south road for a friendly on sunday and were pushed all the way by a good Bookers side who possibly deserved more out of the game .Invicta fell behind after early exchanges when Bolton was adjudged to have pushed a bookers forward in the box and they made no mistake from the penalty.
This kicked Invicta into life and Rider went close.Rider then found space on the right and his cross was turned in By Stewart Law to equalise . Harding and Avery played well at the back keeping out the lively Bookers forwards .With squad rotation all the players had chance to shine. Lefevre put rider through and he went close.Rider should have squared with players to choose but shot wide and it was level at half time.
Bookers started the second half the Better creating chances but finding Invicta Keeper Peter Lee in good form making several top class saves .However Invicta fell behind again when they failed to clear a corner and it was fired in from the edge of the box.
Invicta rung the changes with 20 minutes to go and it seem to work straight away as Stephens found Rider who lobbed the keeper from 35 yards to equalise.Stephens then put Rider away who s shot was cleared off the line but the lively Burden got to the rebound and was felled by the keeper .Rider stroked home the penalty to give Invicta the lead .Bookers still pressed and Lee saved well again.Thornton then capitalise on a poor clearence and added a fourth from the edge of the box. With time running out Lewis ,Lupepe and ward came on to help defend and give Invicta victory.
It was a good performance from all the lads and it was nice to give some of the lower ability lads a run out as well,I thought the difference was the finishing we took our chances .However fair play to Bookers who had also a game in the morning And came in at short notice they pushed us all the way.

Invicta's Disability side have success at Chelsea
Folkestone Invicta took 2 teams to Cobham for a tournament and had mixed success.
Though it was supposed to be Championship and league levels it was more prem and champ levels.
The Championship side under John Thornton started with a win over AFC Bournemouth,Then drew with Chelsea and lost to Spurs L.A. and Brentford in their league basis games meaning play offs to reach 3rd place .They duly obliged by beating Bournemouth 5-1 and Brentford on pens.Spurs beat Chelsea in the final.
Champ Team P.Lee,W.Froud,O.Smith,J.Thornton,J.Lefevre,J.Hughes,
M.Shepherd,D.Stephens. MOM J .Hughes
The League side under Geraint Wilson started well in their league games winning 6-0 against Bournemouth,2-0 against Woking and 4-0 against Brentford before losing 2-0 to Chelsea this meant Folkestone Invicta had to play Chelsea in the final .Chelsea were technically better and fitter than Invicta however Invicta s Defencive tactics payed off as they held Chelsea 0-0 which meant Penaltys which went to sudden Death when MOM Matt Milton saved James Turner Fired home and Invicta clinched the Trophy.
It was not pretty we killed the game but sometimes it has to be done.Geraint Wilson said.
