Disability: Basepoint Trophy (1st Leg)
Maidstone United D.F.C. 0-4 Folkestone Invicta
Folkestone Invicta produced a solid performance to take a lead in the 1st leg .The first twenty minutes were even with both teams producing half chances dealt with by their respective Keepers .Stephens had a good chance but his shot was blocked A few poor tackles led to invicta having some free kick but could not make them count. On twenty five minutes Law's through ball found Mo Shepherd bursting down the right and he cut in and fired into the top corner to give Invicta the lead .Maidstone fought back and good work from Causer and Harding kept them out with Hughes in goal saving behind them . Bolton then gave away a free kick in a dangerous area but redeemed himself with a clearing header.Good work from Lake in midfield put Shepherd away and he fired wide then Burden forced a corner on the left and from Lakes delivery Peter Lee headed home to make invicta comfortable at the break.
Changes were made at half time to give some fresh legs ,But Maidstone who also made changes started the better forcing Invicta on the backfoot and went close from distance and forcing a number of corners which Invicta defended superbly . Invicta weathered the storm and when Law sent Sam Hughes down the left he unleashed a shot that the Keeper could not hold and Wilson was in the right place following up to slide home the third.Burden Forced a great save from the Maidstone keeper to keep the score down and he also had to be alert to parry a lake corner.Turner attacked down the right and his ball found Burden who miscued even thogh being held.Maidstone had great chance from a corner but fired wide and from a long range free kick just over.
From a long J Hughes goal kick a maidstone Defender headed Backwards and Burden latched onto it before firing past the keeper.
