ALL PLAY - NO PAY
Many commentators would describe the antics and mind-sets of many paid footballers as mercenary, but that certainly doesn't apply to the lads who provide their effort and skills to help Folkestone Invicta battle it out in the ultra-competitive 'Ryman' Isthmian Premier League.

It is very difficult to run a football business these days without major sponsorship income and Folkestone Invicta rely heavily on a few dedicated companies, committed individuals and the assistance and work of the Club's Directors, Management and Staff, the Supporters Club, and of course the paying fans, to keep the Club's finances balanced... but in an unusual and highly respected gesture of commitment, dedication to and passion for their beloved Club, the contracted, waged and part-time players offered to forego their payments for the last four weeks – to a man!
For some of the team members, their football playing positions are their work, their only jobs; yet still, in recognition of the ongoing financial difficulties faced by Invicta – and indeed most of the lower league (and even more high profile) clubs, they volunteered to train hard and to turn out during the last month, for nothing!
The Directors, Management, Ground Staff and Supporters Club acknowledge this with pride and look forward to the continuing dedication of an obviously committed team:
Jack, Josh V, Liam F, Frankie, Liam D, Josh B, James, Michael, Roland, Robbie, Darren, Jimmy, Simon, Roy, Paul and Luke.
Thanks guys!
Folkestone Invicta FC is struggling a little near the foot of the table but there's no giving up as success is within reach. With a bit of luck on the field, the building of sponsorship, and – most importantly – the support of the paying public (that's you), then so much excitement and recognition can be achieved.
FIFC really needs new support to help them continue to develop the tradition of good football in Folkestone. Come along and fill the stands! Everyone is welcome, young and old, male and female; it's a family friendly place. Help keep the nation's number one sport alive in our Town.
If you would like to get involved (with absolutely no obligation), then call the Marketing Managers on 07761 712024 (Martyn) and 07930 101224 (Mike).
