LEADERS HELD AGAIN BY GUTSY INVICTA

For the second time in a month Invicta held league leaders Maidstone to a 2-2 draw - the game, in front of a crowd of 1,005 at The Gallagher Stadium, following a near identical pattern to that at Cheriton Road on February 9.
Folkestone had much the better of the opening half but needed a slice of good fortune to take the lead after 38 minutes when Darren Smith's free-kick was turned into his own net by defender Steve Watt, under seemingly very little pressure.
Watt was sent off for a second bookable offence soon after the break, but that seemed to at last spark the home side into retaliation.
Stuart King levelled with a free-kick just just outside the area and then Ade Olurunda gave the 10-man home side the lead with Folkestone reeling at that point.
Folkestone keeper Jack Delo pulled off a fabulous double save to prevent further damage and Smith's driven effort in a crowded penalty area took a couple of deflections to earn Invicta a thoroughly deserved point.
Full report to come.
