Faversham 0-1 Invicta

Darren Smith was the clear winner on points over former Invicta team-mate Darren Marsden as Folkestone Invicta outplayed high-riding Faversham at Salter's Lane on Saturday.

For the second game running, 'Smudger' was the undoubted man of the match with an all-action performance - scoring the only goal of the game after 13 minutes and desperately unlucky as a late lob hit the bar when he looked certain to add the second goal that both his - and his team's - performance warranted.

New signing Dane Luchford made a useful debut showing an impressive willingness to cross the ball early - a key factor in Smith's match-winning goal - and in several more close shaves for the Faversham goal.

* Folkestone's home game against Chipstead - washed out on December 29 - has now been resceduled for Wednesday, January 30.

But, next for Invicta is the visit of league leaders Dulwich Hamlet this coming Saturday, January 12.
