As the 2009/2010 Ryman One South campaign finally kicked off on Saturday afternoon with a home game against Dulwich Hamlet, Invicta fans were simply relieved to have a side on the pitch to support.
The long standing negotiations with the Inland Revenue have not gone away and are continuing, but the Board and those connected to the 'rescue effort' are now much more optimistic about the future of Folkestone Invicta.
Neil Cugley's men produced a spirited display against a Dulwich side which has spent big and undergone a complete overhaul of personnel since their visit to the Buzzlines Stadium last season. We are still fighting and have a team on the pitch in Ryman One South, which is a highly competitive league.
A lot of people are working very hard to keep a team on the pitch, and this effort needs to continue for the future of our Club to keep shining bright.
Let's get behind the team and start to raise the money we need.
It must be stressed that only through working together can we all work to save our Club.
A number of fundraising events are planned to take place this season.
We are to raffle a brand new car - with the draw being made in 2010.
Tickets for this raffle will be £10, which is extraordinary value for the prize on offer.
More details are to follow this week, exclusively on www.folkestoneinvicta.co.uk.
A £-4-£ sceme is also to operate.
For every £1 we raise from 1st September - outside of our normal fundraisers such as Golden Goal and 50/50 - the Board will match us, pound for pound.
This will be to a maximum of £5000, again, an extremely generous offer.
We raised approximately £500 from cans and coins last year, so it can be done. Keep them coming in!
But there are other events, initiatives and schemes which can be put in place to raise valueable cash which will help our Club. We need to all pull together and send in ideas - or simply make a donation via our Paypal link at the top of the homepage of this website.
Supporters Club membership is now available for the 2009/2010 season at the following prices:
Adult - £5
Concessions - £3
Regarding away travel this season, this is also now available for the 2009/2010 season at the following prices:
Members - £10
Non-members -
£15
For either of these, please speak to Dusty or Leanne Miller. Dusty will have forms available from Wednesday 19th August - where Invicta are away to Eastbourne Town.
