Folkestone Invicta Football Club is disappointed at its exclusion from the consortium which is proposing the redevelopment of the lower part of the Polo Ground. The Club has always been supportive of the cricket and hockey clubs in seeking to achieve improved facilities for all mainstream sports, and indeed for other sports for which there is a lack of suitable facilities in Folkestone. It is unwavering in that commitment both to sport in general and to the wider community interest.
Folkestone Invicta therefore wholeheartedly supports these proposals.
Invicta's primary responsibility is to people interested in watching and playing football, and especially to the hundreds of youngsters in Shepway currently and prospectively able to be coached and to play football under the auspices of the highly successful and FA Charter-bearing Folkestone Invicta Youth Section. The Club's strategy will therefore be to engage positively and collaboratively with the District and Town Councils, the Bowls Club, local schools and the Polo Ground consortium to lead the way in developing improved facilities for junior and amateur football. There is a great opportunity here to develop facilities for all sports, and the Football Club is wholly committed to the support of all individuals and organisations working towards that sum-of-the-whole proposition for our town.
