Folkestone Invicta made it three consecutive 1-0 wins to progress past AFC Hayes in their F. A. Cup Preliminary Round tie at a sunny Buzzlines Stadium.
Teenage substitute Jon DRISCOLL scored the only goal of the game when he got the final touch to put the ball over the line after Michael Yianni had drilled his shot across goal when Micheal Everitt found him in space on the right hand side of the penalty area.
It was Driscoll's first senior goal for the club after he had set up Josh Burchell's late winner against Whitstable in midweek.
Driscoll had come on at half time for the club's record goalscorer James Dryden who had made his first appearance of the season after a pre-season knee injury.
The win takes Invicta through to meet either Sittingbourne or Horley at home in the First Qualifying Round on Saturday September 12 th .
Dryden for David Cory (back) was the first change to Invicta's starting line up in their opening five matches of the season.
Darren Butler headed wide for the visitors in the seventh minute when Craig Tomkins crossed from the left.
But Dryden was soon in the action for Invicta as he headed at visiting goalkeeper John Peacock following crosses from Yianni and Burchell.
AFC Hayes had a good chance to open the scoring in the 17 th minute when striker Danilson Vicente headed over from close range following a header from John Powles in the penalty area.
Invicta striker James Everitt was just unable to make sufficient contact to a 20 th minute josh Vincent cross from the right and then could not get enough power on his shot when Jimmy Jackson played the ball in eight minutes later.
Yianni hit a powerful shot from outside the penalty area following a good run on the half hour mark but goalkeeper Peacock held firm.
Fellow midfielder Darren Smith then also tried his luck from outside the box two minutes later.
Invicta central defender Liam Friend was booked for catching striker Vicente late in the 35 th minute.
Both captains did not last beyond the first half as AFC Hayes lost defender Ben Hayden in the 40 th minute and Dryden did not come out for the second half.
Hayden's replacement Theo Ahene shot over from the right hand side of the penalty area in the 51 st minute.
But Invicta began to press for a winner as Peacock made a vital 56 th minute save with his feet to deny Frankie Chappell from close range after an initial James Everitt shot.
A 63 rd minute Vicente shot was comfortably dealt with by Jack Delo after Tomkins threaded the ball through. And Vicente was booked for impeding the goalkeeper as he then attempted to clear.
Driscoll's goal gave Invicta the vital breakthrough to end the stalemate.
The visitors responded as a great ball from Powles put Vicente through with a chance to equalise in the 70 th minute as he drew Delo and went round him, only for the goalkeeper to recover to make a great take and snatch the ball back to avert the danger.
Vincent headed clear at the far post a minute later to deny Tomkins when Ahene did well down the right hand side and sent a cross over.
Burchell then headed away in the 73 rd minute when Tomins crossed from the left hand side.
At the other end, Chappell headed just in front of Yianni when Smith played the ball in from the left.
The visitors went in search of an equaliser as substitute Adamson Ajayi turned down the left hand side of the penalty area and went round Chappell but could only shoot into the side netting when under pressure from the centre half.
Defender Liam Dickson returned to first team action as a late substitute after a summer knee injury.
And AFC Hayes defender Liam Fowler was booked for bringing James Everitt down in the 90 th minute after losing possession.
A case of job done for Invicta after a fourth clean sheet in five matches.
