Second half goals from Michael Yianni and Micheal Everitt gave Folkestone Invicta victory in Tuesday night's pre-season friendly away to Deal Town as the visitors got on top during the closing stages at the Charles Ground.
YIANNI broke the deadlock when he headed Invicta into a 74 th minute lead as he nodded the ball back across goal and into the net following a great cross from substitute Billy Swallow on the left.
And EVERITT made it 2-0 in the 85 th minute when he took the ball on and let fly from just outside the penalty area, with substitute goalkeeper Brad Ashmore parrying the ball into the net.
Most of the game's chances came after the interval after a first half during which Invicta's Jimmy Jackson shot just wide from the edge of the box in the 18 th minute.
At the other end, Deal's Danny Smith drilled a low 26 th minute shot across goal just wide of the far post from the left hand side.
The home side then won a corner seven minutes later when Jack Collins' dangerous ball in from the right was headed over by Invicta right back Josh Vincent, with Mo Takaloo waiting in the middle.
Home defender Josh Davison blocked a 43 rd minute Jon Driscoll shot into the arms of goalkeeper Paul Rogers.
Substitute Invicta goalkeeper Kieron Mann was soon called into action at the start of the second half as he saved a Scott Holden shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Jackson then shot wide from the edge of the box when a Driscoll cross from the right deflected back out to him.
Invicta's substitutions saw James Everitt revert from attack to right back, with Peter Williams and Lee Radford joining the forward line and Saturday's goalscorer Sam Henson and Swallow joining the defence.
There was a near miss in the Invicta penalty area on the hour when a corner from the right was met by Takaloo but struck team mate Sean Brown close to the line.
One of the highlights of the game was a 63 rd minute box-to-box dribble by Invicta midfielder Billy Sommerville which was interrupted by a foul on the edge of the Deal penalty area. Goalkeeper Ashmore touched Jackson's subsequent free kick round the post for a corner.
Williams shot wide for Invicta in the 66 th minute when impeded by defender Adam Govey after being put through by James Everitt.
There were chances at both ends in the 69 th minute as first Henson blocked and then Invicta substitutes Williams and Radford both got shots in, with strong appeals for handball against a Deal defender turned down.
Man saved a 70 th minute Brown header when Smith played the ball in from the left.
But it was Yianni's headed goal which put Invicta in the driving seat.
Swallow burst down the left flank again in the 79 th minute and Williams volleyed the subsequent cross wide without making full contact.
Deal responded as Brown shot in front of substitute John Utterson when Joe Neilson's ball in from the right came back out.
Radford shot into the side netting after going round goalkeeper Ashmore down the left hand side of the penalty area in the 82 nd minute.
Mann came out to save from Utterson a minute later, but Invicta soon increased their lead.
Radford threatened again in the 88 th minute when he cut in from the right and shot wide after receiving the ball from Micheal Everitt.
Deal had one last chance as Smith's ball in from the left flew just in front of Holden at the far post.
