Folkestone Invicta 1-0 Norton Sports
Author: Richard Murrill
Published: 21st July, 2009

Folkestone Invicta recorded a second successive 1-0 pre-season home win thanks to a second half James Everitt penalty against Kent League side Norton Sports at the Buzzlines Stadium on Tuesday night.

EVERITT scored the only goal of the night from the spot in the 52 nd minute as the rain fell heavily after the goalscorer's elder brother Micheal was unceremoniously fouled inside the penalty area.

In a low key encounter, Invicta captain James Dryden was carried off early on with a jarred ankle after being the victim of a heavy challenge.

Josh Vincent also went off injured during the second half, with defender Liam Dickson himself watching from the sidelines after picking up a knock in Saturday's win over Thamesmead.

Dryden's injury gave an earlier than expected chance to substitute Lee Radford who had scored the winner on Saturday.

The closest Invicta came to a second goal was when Jimmy Jackson's 65 th minute free kick from the right hand side flashed just in front of centre half Frankie Chappell in the middle of the penalty area.

FOLKESTONE INVICTA : Delo (Mann 61 mins), Vincent, Burchell (Swallow 61 mins), Friend, Chappell, M. Everitt, Smith, Yianni (Sommerville 61 mins), Dryden (Radford 24 mins), J. Everitt (Driscoll 61 mins), Jackson (Williams 74 mins).
