An 86 th minute gal from James Everitt gave Folkestone Invicta all three points from their visit to Walton Casuals on Saturday.
Striker EVERITT scored the all-important goal when he put the ball in from close range after Frankie Chappell had a shot charged down following a free kick taken by goalkeeper Jack Delo out to Josh Vincent on the right hand side after Leon Yarnie had fouled Invicta captain Micheal Everitt close to the half way line.
Invicta have made single goal victories via late winners something of a trademark so far this season, including their 3-2 win at home to Walton Casuals back in October.
The Folkestone side has now won 17 of their 24 league matches this season and 13 of them have been by a single goal margin, and eight of them have been 1-0.
The win gave Invicta a tonic the day after it was confirmed that the club had entered into a CVA arrangement and with it the imminent loss of ten points and their top place in the Ryman League Division One South table.
Invicta fielded their usual starting eleven as they looked to return to winning ways after their midweek defeat away to title rivals Croydon Athletic and the disappointment of having their lead at the top of the table eroded due to off-the-field issues.
Anthony Gale let fly with a fourth minute shot from 25 yards for the home side that was comfortably dealt with by visiting goalkeeper Delo.
At the other end, home goalkeeper Chico Ramos smothered a Simon Austin shot two minutes later when the striker was under pressure from Jake Jenkins in the middle of the penalty area after a combination between Vincent and James Everitt down the right hand side.
A 30 th minute Jimmy Jackson free kick sailed over everybody in the middle and past the far post after a foul by Carl Garstang on James Everitt on the right touchline.
Gale then shot at Delo from outside the penalty area again for the home side eight minutes later following a run by Michael Barima.
Austin fired wide for Invicta from outside the box in the 40 th minute after a run through the middle, while another Gale shot from the right hand side of the penalty area was saved by Delo at his near post two minutes later.
The home side made a good start to the second half as a well-struck Barima shot went just past the post from the edge of the penalty area in the 49 th minute.
There were chances at both ends two minutes later. First the home side had their best opening of the game when Delo came out to save from striker Yarnie when Gale squared the ball to him in a move started by Jenkins.
And then Invicta striker Everitt shot against the post from the right hand side of the penalty area.
Darren Smith then shot into the side netting in the 56 th minute when Vincent played the ball in to James Everitt from the right hand side.
At the other end, Garstang crossed from the left just in front of Barima in the middle two minutes later.
As Invicta chased a winner, James Everitt hooked the ball wide in the 65 th minute when a move involving defenders Liam Friend and Chappell and striking partner Austin worked the ball in from the left and past goalkeeper Ramos.
And it was Everitt who was to strike another late winner to become Invicta's leading goalscorer so far this season with six as this spirited side again found a way to come through.
The home side won their only two corners of the game during stoppage time when even goalkeeper Ramos joined their attack.
